As a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), your health insurance plan must cover the cost of a breast pump. Your plan may have guidelines on whether the covered pump is manual or electric, purchase or the length of the rental, and when you’ll receive it (before or after birth). Most major insurance plans under companies like Tricare (Military), Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) will cover electric breast pumps entirely.

It's worth noting that some plans restrict us from providing you with your pump and require you work directly with them. We will let you know if that's the case once we start processing your order. You can learn more it on the Healthcare.gov website.

It depends on your insurance and/or plan. Most wearable breast pumps, electric breast pumps, and wireless breast pumps, are fully covered, including the Freemie Independence, by major insurance companies like Tricare (Military), Cigna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS). Feel free to check with your insurance provider on your eligiblity and coverage, or complete our form and we'll take care of it for you. It's worth noting that it's not really "free", you are entitled to your health benefits that you are paying for.

In addition to the Freemie Independence breast pump, we also offer the Freemie Liberty breast pump, Spectra S1 breast pump, Spectra S2 breast pump, Spectra 9 breast pump, Spectra SG Dual Adjust breast pump, Medela MaxFlow breast pump, Medela Sonata breast pump, Medela Freestyle Flex breast pump, Motif Duo breast pump, Motif Luna breast pump, Unimom Zomee Z2 breast pump, Evenflo Advanced Double Electric breast pump, and Lansinoh Smartpump 2 breast pump.

Yes, in almost all circumstances, a prescription is required in order to submit claims through your insurance. This applies to breast pumps, braces, bands, compression socks, and lactation consulting.

We try to process all requests as quickly as possible, however the shipping timing may vary based on the requirements within the health insurance plan. For breast pumps, most plans require that the expecting mom is within 30 days of the expected delivery date. Postpartum braces and other supplies typically need to wait until post-delivery. Once you start your process with us, we will provide updates as more information becomes available in the process.
